- Owner of technical design and solutioning for their OMS (IBM Sterling Order Management) system . As part of company’s digital growth strategy, the OMS solution is multi-constituent in nature, involving Ecom, mobile app(s), POS and other channels and multiple brands.
- While adhering to their IT principles of operational excellence, the candidate will partner with business process and systems analysts, business teams and other technical leads to define, design and guide the execution of the technical requirements, principles, and models. The candidate will develop roadmaps outlining how solutions will be structured.
- Responsible for analyzing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that fits within Petco’s Enterprise Reference Architecture and outlines solutions that integrate across large/complex applications, systems, and platforms to achieve business objectives. Influences major systems or infrastructure decisions, maintains application best practices, and negotiates solutions conducive to Petco’s short- and long-term visions.
- Extensive experience in Sterling OMS 9.5, SOM, DOM, Call Center, web services, APIs, integrations, Dojo, Angular, administration, etc. required.
- Be able to succinctly explain the pros and cons of architecture, design and development approaches, guiding principles and best practices.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Skills
Partner with the business team and IT to prepare and program various “proof of concepts” for testing
• Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing
• Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes• Proficient with RESTful API’s to connect Android applications to back-end services• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices• Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning• Knowledge of the open source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks• Familiarity with Cloud Message APIs and Push Notifications• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines• Familiarity with continuous integration
